Northern Illinois human resources council

Effective January 1, 2023, we are happy to announce the creation of a new Illinois Society of Human Resources Management (SHRM) suburban chapter – Northern Illinois Human Resources Council (NIHRC).  NIHRC is the result of a merger between two excellent chapters, Northern Illinois SHRM (NISHRM), which included, but was not limited to, the north shore, Evanston, Northbrook, Deerfield, Lake Forest, Gurnee and Waukegan, and the Northwest Human Resources Council (NHRC), that included, but was not limited to, Northwest suburbs such as Arlington Heights, Roselle, Schaumburg and Hoffman Estates. Membership in NIHRC is available to human resources professionals at all levels from any Illinois city.  We’d love to have you!

• Monthly virtual or in-person Professional Development Events (PDEs)
• Networking opportunities through community service involvement, small group topic discussions, etc.
• Legal programming two times a year
• SHRM certification resources
• One Annual Half Day Conference
• Mentoring young professionals and providing scholarship opportunities for students entering the profession
• Career, job and contract work assistance for professionals in transition and seeking new opportunities
• Roundtables with HR professionals to discuss best practices, trends and problem solving
